Baseball Recap: Junipero Serra Find Success

Junipero Serra picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Benicia Panthers.

Aiden Waters looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Evan Bradshaw and Ian Josephson did most of the damage at the plate: Bradshaw went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Josephson went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Josephson has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of William Walbridge, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Junipero Serra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benicia only posted a batting average of .226.

Junipero Serra's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Benicia, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Junipero Serra will welcome Oak Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Benicia, they will head out to square off against Campolindo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
