Basketball Game Preview: Mid Valley Spartans vs. Old Forge Blue Devils

Mid Valley has won three straight games at home, while Old Forge has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Mid Valley Spartans will host the Old Forge Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Mid Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-52 to Honesdale.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kaleik Cook, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demaja Dunston, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Old Forge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 63-58 to Riverside. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mid Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Old Forge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.

Mid Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Old Forge in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 50-40. Does Mid Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Old Forge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
