Softball Recap: Georgetown Visitation Prep Victorious

Seven must be Georgetown Visitation Prep's lucky number: they beat Holton-Arms with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Cubs beat Holton-Arms by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-4. The victory continues a trend for the Cubs in their matchups with Holton-Arms: they've now won five in a row.

Sami Farmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ainsley Kovarik, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Caitlin O'Connor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

The win got Georgetown Visitation Prep back to even at 7-7. As for Holton-Arms, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Georgetown Visitation Prep will square off against Potomac School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cubs surely won't give up without a fight. Holton-Arms does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
