Preview: Durand Railroaders vs. Webberville Spartans

The Durand Railroaders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Webberville Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. Durand has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 224 points over their last three matches.

Even though Mt. Morris scored an imposing 67 points on Friday, Durand still came out on top. Durand walked away with a 76-67 victory over Mt. Morris.

Markell Tate was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Tate is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Levi Smith was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Webberville pushed their score all the way to 60 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Maple Valley by a score of 62-60.

Durand's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Webberville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Durand ended up a good deal behind Webberville in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, losing 61-46. Can Durand avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
