Volleyball Recap: California Lutheran Comes Up Short

California Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the C-Hawks of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-7, 25-13.

Cailin Schroeder paced California Lutheran's offense, picking up five kills. Schroeder got some help from Neleh Boehm and her four assists.

California Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. California Lutheran will challenge Cornerstone Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, they will face off against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
