Softball Recap: Buchanan Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Buchanan fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bullard on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Natalee Gant made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Gant wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Buchanan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Buchanan's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Bullard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buchanan will venture away from home to challenge Clovis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bullard, they will head out to take on Centennial at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Bullard's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
