Volleyball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

Concord was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alhambra Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Concord ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from James Hopkins, who had 15 kills, five digs, and three aces. Hopkins is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Alhambra, their victory bumped their record up to 6-16.

Coincidentally, Concord and Alhambra will both be playing Benicia the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
