Baseball Recap: Lower Moreland Takes a Loss

Lower Moreland had taken Bristol down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Lower Moreland Lions fell just short of the Bristol Warriors by a score of 6-5. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Lower Moreland got a good showing from Dan Giampaoloa, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, James Cronin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Gavin Blumhardt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Lower Moreland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Lower Moreland will challenge Lansdale Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bristol, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against New Hope-Solebury at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
