Softball Game Preview: Easton Area Rovers vs. Council Rock South Golden Hawks

The Easton Area Rovers will venture away from home to challenge the Council Rock South Golden Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Council Rock South took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Easton Area, who comes in off a win.

Easton Area took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bethlehem Catholic with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Rovers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Faith Zimmerman was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoe Betts, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Easton Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethlehem Catholic only posted a batting average of .118.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Council Rock South's offense. They fell just short of Spring-Ford by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Golden Hawks were not able to get on the board.

The victory snapped Easton Area's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-8 record. As for Council Rock South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Easton Area came up short against Council Rock South in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Rovers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
