Baseball Recap: Kaiser Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Kaiser and Summit had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cats fell 6-1 to the SkyHawks on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Cats in their meetings with the SkyHawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Kaiser got a good showing from Gabriel Martinez, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, Kaiser saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Andrew Ramirez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Kaiser's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Summit, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kaiser will face off against rival Rialto at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Summit is set to challenge their familiar foe Grand Terrace at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the SkyHawks 2.2, the Titans 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
