Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Christian Crusaders vs. Metro Tech Knights

After both having extra time off, the Northwest Christian Crusaders and the Metro Tech Knights will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Northwest Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Yuma Catholic last Saturday. Northwest Christian took a hard 54-36 fall against Yuma Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Shamrocks are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Metro Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 84-31 loss at the hands of Central.

Northwest Christian will have to contain Erick Morales as he made an impact in Metro Tech's last game. He posted eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Northwest Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Metro Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Everything came up roses for Northwest Christian against Metro Tech when the teams last played back in December of 2018, as the team secured a 52-24 win. Will Northwest Christian repeat their success, or does Metro Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
