League recap: Scudder's hitting boosts Rock Island

Western Big Six league recap: 5/7/12

Jake Scudder was on fire this week, as he led Western Big Six with a .300 average with five RBIs. Rock Island compiled a record of 1-2 in that time.

After a week in which it went 2-0, Quincy jumped from 312 to 175 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league.

The Rocks's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 19 hits and 12 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, Rock Island has allowed just 201 hits, while striking out 126 batters. Matt Erickson leads Rock Island with 37 strikeouts in 33 innings.
