Basketball Recap: Powdersville Skates Past Pickens with Ease

The third road matchup was the charm for Powdersville, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 65-29 victory over the Pickens Blue Flame. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Powdersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caroline Sweet, who went 10 of 16 en route to 24 points. The game was Sweet's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Raegan Bryant, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Powdersville's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Pickens, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5.

Powdersville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Pickens, they will face off against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
