Basketball Recap: Chief Kitsap Academy Comes Up Short

Chief Kitsap Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Neah Bay Red Devils, falling 76-23. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-14.

Neah Bay was led to victory by Mathias Greene and Makyah Chambers. Greene went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points in addition to six boards and five steals, while Chambers went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points and eight steals. That's the most points Greene has posted since back in February of 2024. Thomas Sawyer was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Chief Kitsap Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Neah Bay, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Chief Kitsap Academy and Clallam Bay will meet on Wednesday for a tough Bear Battle. As for Neah Bay, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Naselle at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neah Bay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.
