Preview: Ontario Warriors vs. Pleasant Spartans
Ontario is 8-2 against the Spartans since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Ontario Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Pleasant Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Ontario is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Ontario suffered a rough 67-41 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ontario has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Pleasant didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Colts on Friday, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pleasant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lathan McCants, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCants has scored all season. JT Snively was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Ontario has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Pleasant, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Ontario came up short against the Spartans when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 60-49. Can Ontario avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
