Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for New Bern Christian Academy

New Bern Christian Academy entered their tilt with Community Christian on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Cyclones by a score of 10-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 back in March.

Aiden Britt made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Holden Popperwill and Tyler Willis did most of the damage at the plate: Popperwill went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Willis went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Willis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joel Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

New Bern Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in three consecutive games.

New Bern Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Community Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

New Bern Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 7-6 defeat against Faith Christian Academy on the 3rd. Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
