Basketball Recap: Mullins Auctioneers vs. Conway Tigers

After a string of six wins, the Mullins Auctioneers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conway. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mullins has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Mullins saw an underclassman step up: Dakarai Worley dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Mullins struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Conway's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Grainger, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Grant, who scored ten points.

Mullins' defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Conway, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mullins will face off against the Swamp Foxes at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for Conway, they will head out on the road to face off against the Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Sumter is ranked 86th, while the Tigers are ranked 67th).
