Soccer Game Preview: Greer vs. Daniel

The Greer Yellow Jackets will head out to take on the Daniel Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Greer comes in on nine and Daniel on six.

On Friday, Greer got the win against Seneca by a conclusive 6-2. Greer might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Seneca from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Tomas Veg? led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Daniel). They never let Blue Ridge get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. Daniel's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matches.

Daniel pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those seven contests. As for Greer, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Greer beat Daniel 3-1 in their previous matchup on April 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
