Basketball Recap: Paxton Piles Up the Points Against Wallace

Paxton won the last time they faced Wallace and things went their way on Friday too. The Paxton Tigers really took it to the Wallace Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-23 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Paxton to victory were Jakcee Mitchell and Emmalee Nicholson. Mitchell went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points and seven boards, while Nicholson dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Nicholson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Clouse, who posted five points and four steals.

The win made it two in a row for Paxton and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Wallace, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Paxton will take on Hitchcock County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wallace, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wallace Wildcats face off against the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
