Basketball Recap: Burke Falls Short of Lyman in the Playoffs

Burke and Lyman squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Burke had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Lyman Raiders, falling 79-44. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-21 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Burke lost, don't look at Quinten Bull. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. Bull is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gentry Bartling, who posted seven points.

Burke's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Lyman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Burke does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lyman, they have already played their next match, a 72-59 win against Lower Brule on the 8th.
