Baseball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Liberty Christian Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They came up short against the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions, falling 13-7. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 12-8.

Max Yamaki-Taylor was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Herndon, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Sandhills Classical Christian, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024 (when they won 13-3).

On Sandhills Classical Christian's side, they got a great performance from Tyler Allen as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Casey McBride was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landon Smith, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Liberty Christian Academy will take on rival Mintz Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Sandhills Classical Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Antioch Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on May 5.
