Football Game Preview: Corona Panthers vs. Santiago Sharks + Official Tickets

Corona hasn't had much luck against Santiago recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Corona came up short against Murrieta Mesa and fell 31-20. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 555th, while the Rams are ranked 106th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Benjamin Campusano, who picked up 84 receiving yards and two scores. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

Meanwhile, Santiago played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Great Oak, falling 50-24. The Sharks have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Corona's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Santiago, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.

Corona took a serious blow against Santiago in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 56-15. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
