Soccer Game Preview: Spanish Fork vs. Maple Mountain

The Spanish Fork Dons will square off against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Spanish Fork proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Salem Hills 2-1.

Max Seeley and Mikey Ramirez scored both of Spanish Fork's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Maple Mountain faced Salem Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Maple Mountain's defense stepped up to hand Salem Hills a 1-0 shutout. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Maple Mountain were the better team in the second half.

Maple Mountain pushed their record up to 3-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three contests. As for Spanish Fork, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
