Softball Recap: Maryville Takes a Loss

Maryville and Halls squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Maryville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Red Rebels in their meetings with the Red Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Sadie Johnson spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Maryville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Halls, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 31-6-1.

Maryville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Halls, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-1 win against Farragut on the 15th.
