National Player of the Year candidate Jaden Hardy leads a reloaded Cougars squad.

Coronado (Henderson, Nev.) enters this season with MaxPreps National Player of the Year contender Jaden Hardy, a roster bolstered by key offseason additions and lofty expectations.

The Nevada power had a strong showing at last month's Top Flight Invite. The Cougars beat No. 17 Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis, Minn.) and No. 5 Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) before losing to No. 2 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) in a competitive championship game.

Coronado and Hardy, a MaxPreps first team Junior All-American last season, received an influx of offseason talent headlined by high-major commits Frankie Collins and Legend Geeter.

Darnell Fizer, Osiris Grady and Chris Page are newcomers also expected to play supporting roles for a Jeff Kaufman-coached team beginning the 2020-21 season with the program's highest expectations after a 20-8 finish last year.

Coronado appears to have the talent necessary to compete with No. 6 Bishop Gorman and the Gaels' quest for a 10th straight Nevada state championship.
