Basketball Recap: Terrance Collins and Kaleb Sanders Secure Win for Stanhope Elmore + How To Watch

Stanhope Elmore won the last time they faced Chilton County and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 71-68 victory over the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since January 23rd.

Stanhope Elmore was led to victory by Kaleb Sanders and Terrance Collins. Sanders went 6-for-13 on his way to 27 points, while Collins almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. That's the most points Sanders has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Wise, who had seven points.

Despite the loss, Chilton County had strong showings from Cayden Meank, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 31 points and five rebounds, and Damarien Floyd, who went 7-for-16 en route to 20 points and three steals. Meank's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Marshall Thornhill was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and five assists.

Stanhope Elmore's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Chilton County, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Stanhope Elmore will challenge Brewbaker Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chilton County, they will take on Briarwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
