Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Copper Hills

Copper Hills came tearing into Tuesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Herriman Mustangs, posting a 58-14 victory. The match marked the Grizzlies' most dominant win of the season.

Copper Hills was led to victory by Skylie Barker and Ayla Marston. Barker went 7 for 8 en route to 21 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Marston went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points along with six assists and three steals. Barker's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Johnson, who posted four points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Copper Hills was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Herriman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bergen Jettie earned seven points.

Copper Hills is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.7% in those games and 27.5% outside of them. As for Herriman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Copper Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-39 victory against Mountain Ridge on the 23rd. Herriman has also already played their next match, a 66-54 defeat against Riverton on the 23rd.
