Baseball Recap: Hunt Warriors vs. Smithfield-Selma Spartans

After only one run in their last game, Hunt made sure to put some runs up on the board against Smithfield-Selma on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Spartans a 14-0 shutout. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Will Doll made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Hunt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
