Volleyball Recap: St. David's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

St. David's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Casa Grande Cougars by a score of 2-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

St. David didn't let Casa Grande take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23.

Austyn Hatch paced St. David's offense, picking up six kills. Hatch got some help from Zoey Mudge and her ten assists. Hatch also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Paige Evans, each putting up two.

St. David's win bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Casa Grande, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.

St. David wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Benson on the 11th. As for Casa Grande, they will face off against Maricopa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
