Volleyball Recap: Pike Red Devils vs. Lawrence North Wildcats

The Pike Red Devils didn't have quite enough to beat the Lawrence North Wildcats on Thursday and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Pike sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 17-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-11.

Firroune Ouangueye paced Pike's offense, picking up 23 kills. Ouangueye got some help from PP Moo and his 38 assists. Moo was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Lawrence North was led to victory by Luis Vergara and Angel Matias-Ramos. Vergara had ten digs and three aces, while Matias-Ramos had 15 digs and one assist. Those three aces gave Vergara a new career-high. Pedro Rivas also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
