Softball Recap: Mckay Drops Highest Score of Season Against Corvallis

McKay extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost 28-8 to the Corvallis Spartans. On the bright side, the eight- run performance marked the Royal Scots' highest-scoring match to date.

As for Corvallis, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-12. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

For Corvallis' part, Olivia Richardson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and three doubles. Those four hits gave Richardson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Doerr, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKay will challenge West Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Corvallis, they will face off against Bend at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lava Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.56 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
