Baseball Recap: Bergen Catholic Takes a Loss

If Bergen Catholic was riding high fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Westwood on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders fell just short of the St. Joseph Regional Green Knights by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The Crusaders were not able to make up for their loss to the Green Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Jael Santos put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Santos was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Michael Alberto was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Dre Polanco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Bergen Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for St. Joseph Regional, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

While Bergen Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
