Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Khloe Stanner and Mady Conrad Lead Angola to Victory

Angola won the last time they faced NorthWood and things went their way on Saturday too. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 3-2.

Angola took NorthWood into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 28-26, 25-19, 21-25, 15-12.

Angola was led to victory by Mady Conrad and Khloe Stanner. Conrad had 15 digs and six assists, while Stanner had 16 kills, eight digs, and five aces. Those 15 digs gave Conrad a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Angola was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive matchups.

Angola has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for NorthWood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Angola will head out to square off against Homestead at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for NorthWood, they will venture away from home to take on Goshen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
