Baseball Game Preview: St. Pauls Bulldogs vs. Westover Wolverines

The St. Pauls Bulldogs will face off against the Westover Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Pauls took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Lumberton 10-8.

The team relied heavily on Josh Brooks, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Mcneill, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Westover can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Union 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won three contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Westover's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for St. Pauls, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

St. Pauls got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 against Westover by a conclusive 22-0 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
