Schurr's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the South El Monte Eagles with a sharp 78-52 win. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, South El Monte had strong showings from Tony Aguilar, who went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds, and Eli Lopez, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Guzman, who had ten points.

Schurr moved to 1-6 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. As for South El Monte, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
