Volleyball Recap: Shea Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Shea had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Scituate Spartans on Thursday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost five in a row.

Shea took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-17.

Scituate was led to victory by Liliana Maggiacomo and Valentina Mancini. Maggiacomo had 15 assists and nine aces, while Mancini had seven aces and six kills. That's the most aces Mancini has posted since back in September of 2024.

The win was the third in a row for Scituate, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Shea does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Scituate, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ponaganset at 6:15 p.m.
