Softball Game Preview: Trumbull Eagles vs. Danbury Hatters

The Trumbull Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Danbury Hatters at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Trumbull came up short against Ridgefield and fell 9-4.

Meanwhile, Danbury lost 10-3 to New Canaan on Tuesday. The loss was the Hatters' first of the season.

Chloe Trimandilis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie O'Connell, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Danbury fell to 4-1. As for Trumbull, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Trumbull came out on top in a nail-biter against Danbury when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
