Football Recap: Marquette Takes a Loss

Marquette lost against Kirkwood back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs were beaten by the Pioneers 49-7. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-7.

This is the second loss in a row for Marquette and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Kirkwood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marquette will host Rockwood Summit at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kirkwood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ladue Horton Watkins at 7:00 p.m. The Rams will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
