Football Recap: Union Parish Comes Up Short

Union Parish extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost to the Airline Vikings at home by a 34-19 margin. If the Farmers were looking for revenge after losing 56-28 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Although Union Parish took the loss, they still got scores from J'Veon Henderson, Markel Hall, and Ryan Reeder.

As for Airline, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.7 points this season.

Airline's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenny Darby, who picked up 221 receiving yards and three scores. Darby's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 110 receiving yards dating back to last season. Dj Allen was another key back, rushing for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Union Parish has already played their next contest, a 30-8 victory against Green Oaks on the 26th. As for Airline, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 51-49 defeat against Evangel Christian Academy on the 26th.
