Basketball Recap: River Forest Takes a Loss

If River Forest was riding high fresh off their 62-38 takedown of North Newton last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The River Forest Ingots lost 61-40 to the Lowell Red Devils on Thursday. The match marked the Ingots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ezra Elenbaum was nothing short of spectacular for Lowell: he went 7-for-14 on his way to 25 points. Those 25 points gave Elenbaum a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Carter, who posted nine points and seven boards.

River Forest's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Lowell, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Forest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Whiting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Forest is facing Whiting at the right time seeing as Whiting is stuck on a 19-game losing streak. As for Lowell, they will face off against Kouts at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Kouts' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
