Baseball Recap: Greenfield Now 13-1 over Last 14 Games

Greenfield's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Varsity Opponent.

Easton Sullivan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Greenfield got a great performance from Baylor Vujicic as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Baker Biggs, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Anderson Hayes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

Greenfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Greenfield is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Greenfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Tech Magnet at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Varsity Opponent, they have already played their next matchup, a 9-2 win against Grace Christian on the 21st.
