Preview: Cannon County Lions vs. Community Vikings/Viqueens
The Cannon County Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Community Vikings/Viqueens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cannon County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Central Magnet scored an imposing 66 points last Saturday, Cannon County still came out on top. Cannon County rang in the new year with a 76-66 win over Central Magnet.
Community suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Forrest by a score of 53-50. Community has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cannon County's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Community, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Cannon County beat Community 53-42 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cannon County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
