Baseball Recap: Niwot Gets the Win

Niwot proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Silver Creek Raptors 9-8. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Charlie Shaw was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Niwot is 5-2 when Shaw posts two or more runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Haden Shaw was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Niwot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Niwot's record is now 9-14. As for Silver Creek, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10.

As of now, neither Niwot nor the Raptors have any future games scheduled.
