Baseball Recap: Smyrna Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Smyrna and LaVergne, and LaVergne kept the tradition alive. Smyrna took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of LaVergne on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Smyrna has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. LaVergne pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

While Smyrna had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
