Basketball Recap: Lovejoy Triumphs

After losing to Northgate the last time they met, Lovejoy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lovejoy Wildcats slipped by the Northgate Vikings 53-52 on Tuesday.

Leading Lovejoy to victory were Jeremiah Evans and Javion Barkley. Evans dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds, while Barkley went 8 of 16 to rack up 19 points. The dominant performance gave Evans a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Noah Banks, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Lovejoy's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Northgate, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11.

Lovejoy has already played their next match, a 60-47 defeat against McIntosh on the 7th. As for Northgate, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 80-61 loss against Dutchtown on the 6th.
