Football Recap: Twin Loup Takes a Loss

In Friday's Canine Competition, Twin Loup had to take the L. They took a hard 46-27 fall against the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes on Friday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Although Twin Loup took the loss, they still got scores from Carter Hall, Oran Grint, and Yahya Harris.

Dane Duryea produced another solid effort rushing for 295 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry for Anselmo-Merna. Duryea showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Twin Loup and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Anselmo-Merna, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Twin Loup will venture away from home to take on Burwell on Friday. As for Anselmo-Merna, they will host Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Coyotes will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 47.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
