Basketball Game Preview: Estrella Foothills Wolves vs. Buckeye Hawks

The Estrella Foothills Wolves will square off against the Buckeye Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Estrella Foothills comes in on seven and Buckeye on four.

On Friday, Estrella Foothills humbled Deer Valley with a 69-32 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 matches by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Buckeye beat Paradise Valley 61-49 on Monday.

Estrella Foothills better focus on containing Tia Chapman and La'Zaria Williams as the pair were huge in Buckeye's win. Chapman almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Williams went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Chapman a new career-high in assists (six). Carsyn Jones was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Buckeye was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise Valley only racked up 12 assists.

Buckeye is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Estrella Foothills, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-3.

Everything came up roses for Estrella Foothills against Buckeye in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 76-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Estrella Foothills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
