Volleyball Recap: Southview Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Southview challenged Bowling Green on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Bowling Green scored at least nine points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Sophia Harshman paced Southview's offense, picking up 13 kills. Harshman got some help from Skylar Helvey and her 19 assists. Cam Rachko controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Southview now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Bowling Green, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southview is set to square off against their familiar foe Perrysburg at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bowling Green will challenge rival Northview at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
