Basketball Recap: Manchester Finds Playoff Glory Versus Greenwich

With a playoff win on the line, Manchester rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-54 victory over the Greenwich Cardinals. Given the Red Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Cardinals are ranked 58th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manchester's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chance Clark, who went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The game was Clark's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Sheets, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 19 points and five boards.

Manchester's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Greenwich, they moved to 5-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
