Softball Game Preview: Cedar Park Timberwolves vs. Lockhart

The Cedar Park Timberwolves will challenge Lockhart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Park will be strutting in after a win while Lockhart will be coming in after a defeat.

Cedar Park took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Rouse, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Timberwolves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Raiders on Tuesday.

Ellie Massey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Sara Vazquez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Lockhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to Hays.

Lockhart saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sabrina Araiza, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was Araiza's first of the season.

Cedar Park's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Lockhart, their loss dropped their record down to 5-22.

Cedar Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Lockhart when the teams last played back in March, winning 15-11. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do Lockhart have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
